Ophiopogon planiscapus "Nigrescens" Lilyturf. Black grass
This gorgeously sylish plant has become extremely fashionable with its jet-black grass-like leaves. Forming low plants that spread over 30cm (12in), it blooms with white / lilac flowers in the summer and jet black berries in autumn.
Does well in sun or partial shade, so should be suitable for most border positions, but great for creating contrast against plants with pale leaves or flowers. Lovely with deschampsia tatra gold
A clump-forming perennial with narrow, curving, almost totally black leaves.
Clusters of pale purplish white flowers followed by dark blue-black fruit.
